Civilians’ deaths constantly increase, as the YPG/PKK rockets rage on the Syrian territory

On 10 February, four civilians were killed and ten others injured through rocket attacks of YPG/PKK in the Afrin district in northern Syria. The terrorist organization launched its attacks from Tal Rifaat city, held by it. Another civilian was killed and two further were injured by an attack on their car in the village of Maryamin in the Afrin district.

Since its liberation, Afrin was subject to attacks from Tal Rifaat, where a Turkish-Russian agreement of October 2019 requires its withdrawal. In March 2018, Turkish forces and the Syrian National Army conducted Operation Olive Branch, through which the Afrin region was liberated from YPG/PKK that held control of the area for six years.

During the last more than 35 years, the PKK’s  terror campaign by the organization listed as a terror organization by Turkey, the US, and the EU caused the death of nearly 40,000 persons, including women, children, and infants. The YPG is the PKK’s Syrian offshoot.
