Two civilians were killed in an Israeli strike on a site in central Syria

On 24 November 2021, Syrian state TV reported that a military strike by Israel on Syrian territory had killed four people and wounded seven others.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, two civilians were among those killed while one other was among the wounded, in the strike that targeted a site near three villages in the west of Homs province in central Syria. Syrian state TV also reported that two soldiers were killed, and six others wounded in the attack. The Observatory reported that similar strikes on 3 November 2021 hit positions held by the Syrian regime and its pro-Iranian allies near Damascus. Israel has reportedly carried out hundreds of airstrikes on Syrian territory since the start of the Syrian civil war in 2011. Israel has said it is targeting “suspected arms shipments believed to be bound for Lebanon’s Iran-backed Hezbollah terror group, which is fighting alongside Syrian government forces”.

There have been multiple resolutions by the United Nations on the conflicts opposing Israel to its Arab neighbours. However, implementing these resolutions has been difficult with varying degrees of success and sometimes has proven to be very complex.
